To give you an example of what the practical difference is between a Technical Sponsor and a Main sponsor, we’ve put together case studies of what we created for our previous sponsors

Case Study 1 :

Babel-line, UK - MAIN SPONSOR

www.babel-line.co.uk

Babel Line is a t-shirt company based in London, UK and decided to be one of the main sponsors for our previous project, unCOMMON:Wheels, for which we cycled 4062 km from the southernmost point to the northernmost point of Japan over 3 months.

For the campaign we did for them, they gave us 20 t-shirts to be the only ones we would wear anytime when not in cycling gear, and we organized to gift some of those t-shirts to interesting people we found on the way and photograph them.

We created a set of images that were both used on our social media channels, as well as Babel-line ones.

On top of that, as we said before, we agreed to bring no other t-shirts with us and to always wear Babel-line ones, as you can clearly see from them appearing in every Instagram post and video content we shared.

Case Study 2

Brooks England, UK and Italy - TECHNICAL SPONSOR

www.brooksengland.com

Brooks is a UK based Cycling bag company with a very elegant line of products. We worked out together which ones were gonna be the perfect set of panniers for our 3 month long project and they sent them to us.

We made sure that their products and logo were always showing in every picture we would post of the bikes. In the italian vlogs, we even started having a silly inside joke about the name Brooks, making it so that our very responsive audience started using it continuously in whichever form they interacted with us during the trip.

Some of the photos from the trip ended up being used on Brook’s social media channels as well.

The company logo remained on our website for over 2 years and it’s fully credited in everything that concerns the project, including figuring in the book we published about our experience and being mentioned multiple times in it.
